The Lands of the Ebro are a fantastic destination for birdwatchers and nature lovers and River Ebro Apartments make a great base to discover some of the best birding in Spain.

Superbly situated on the riverbank your birdwatching can begin right from the balcony! Little Egret, Purple, Grey and Squacco heron, Hoopoe, Kingfisher, Golden Oriole, Black Kite, Short-toed Eagle, Hobby, Scops Owl and a variety of swallow and swifts are just some of the species you may see (or hear) whilst enjoying your breakfast cuppa or your evening glass of wine! And from Mora d'Ebre you are within easy reach of a wonderful range of habitats supporting a rich diversity of birds.

Drive 30 minutes to the famous wetlands of the Ebro Delta. This is an important breeding ground and migratory stop for up to 300 species of birds - a massive 60% of all the species in Europe. Among them the rare Red-crested Pochard, Slender-billed Gull and around 75% of the world population of Audouins Gull

Seek Griffon Vultures, Bonelli's Eagle, Golden Eagle and other raptors in the high crags of the Els Ports mountains of the Terra Alta or Sierra de Montsant in the Priorat region.

Explore the lower woodlands and river valley for Bee-eater, Red-necked Nightjar, Golden Oriole and a great variety of warblers, finches, tits and larks.

Visit the Sebes Nature Reserve in Flix the breeding grounds of the Marsh Harrier and home to a large colony of White Storks.

In addition to all this from Mora you will be less than an hours drive from the Lleida Steppes where you can find Pin-tailed Sandgrouse and Little Bustard.
